The last gift I got from my grandma she was in a nursing home,
Spencer Iowa,
Was a long throw with a cat,
I’ve seen it everyday since September two twenty hanging nailed above the hall door,
Yeah like a rag,
Because of Iowa’s winter gale blew through my hall door with no outer door to block it out,
I would have never nailed my grandma’s gift there,,
The person who did nail it there saw it as a blanket of no importance,
No one asked what I thought of it,
Just went ahead pell mell and hug it in front of the door,
My youngest cats thought it was for climbing,
To me a gift is precious,
Last night I removed it from the hall wall,
No Nana’s blanket is over me,
I remember that year she gave Mom a long fuzzy blanket robe with a horse on it and me one with a cat,
We went to see Grandma the nursing home outside of Spencer,Iowa,
Nana’s hair was always lite so she always wore a wig,
She was about 5 ft tall,
In the bed she looked insignificant,
My full blooded Norwegian grandma writer, musician, fourth grade school teacher, mother of four who lost one child was never insignificant,
She knew mother but she never knew her daughter she would tell everybody that her daughter Clarion mother’s younger sister Esther’s daughter I think that’s because Clarion looked after grandma and people seem to forget those who do the most for them,
I took care of Mom,
Mothers wished became insignificant to her narcissist eldest daughter of a wife beater,
It really is no big surprise that we mistreated of our Earth our home,
The way we treat people the way we treat our elders it shows no love,
Well another day has started I had sold a book that I didn’t see anything wrong with selling it was mine ,
I had loved the writer it had survived the fire with me,
The buyer thinks that it smells mildew so she’s sending it back,
I’m just going to throw it away you have to greet every challenge and try to do your best always remember customers always right,
Don’t get angry just do the right thing so many in this world won’t,
Have a blessed week bye,
No the nails are as long as my finger.I said nothing because you had done it.
