Fourty-one

Nine above freezing,

My momma cat knew last night,

Knew the kitten she had not taken to had died,

Emily came to me twice,

Sadness stirred deep in her eyes,

A sensative good hearted,

Loving marbled black calico describes her best,

In time Emily adopts kittens not hers,

The second time she came looked at the kitten still,

The kitten gentle abd dainty,

Who had literally fought for survival,

Her spirit from finally had departed,

I place Lilies life less body in a favorite blue handkerchief,

Placed her lifeless torso in a trash bag tied it tight,

Placed it in a second trash bag,

A body void of spirit is no longer,

Lily passed at 3am today,

Now at 738a.m. still only forty-one,

Chester’s cold still makes him sneeze will drive to Decorah,Iowa to get what she needs from the vet,

Her breathing is better,

No more ping,

Ping,

Ping,
