Carnie games

I have played,

Trying desperately to understand why,

Attraction to games of very little chance,

Where game play during your move is interrupted by a commercial,

It feels like ‘Bait and switch’

I imagine a juicy night crawler near a dead tree in a pond,

You dangle your worm there a spell,

Nothing occurs so up you pull your worm and move to a different place in the pond,

After that illusive rumored big fish,

After all that’s what games of chance are,

One hears rumors shouted at you by barkers tempting you to try their game,

Their goal in is to sell their game if chance to you,

Giving you Nothing in exchange,

Why do we all take a chance,

Nothing free is ever worthwhile really is it?

Life is what we put into it,

I’d rather play Marjon Journey where I play against me to get a better time,

Oh and I love I can change the music,

So I win,

No wait and imagine money coming my way,

Its like a woman talking to me,

I smile within.
