Isn’t a uniform donned,
Doesn’t,
No ,isn’t defined by merit,
Is not a sex,
Is human or animal,
Allows those that have it briefly to stand apart,
Courage is not defined by ones death,
It’s young and old,
It calls for standing up facing our fate!
It can be done trembling,
We all have it,
Some never experience it,
Some just see it as duty,
Moms have it,
Everyone who puts others first,
It impresses some,
Some courage talks upon the wind,
Today the American Flag flew at half mass,
A hero,
A man of courage uniformed up,
Stood tall,
Lost his life doing is job,
Thats all he did,
Now his wife her strength,
Her courage,
Her loss,
Our loss,
Courage is not fair,
At Wild Thunder Wild Refuge,
Another hero,
Works caring for animals,
If I had a job at least twice a week,
Hobbling around you’d find this poet,
This wearer of her countries colors,
Courage comes in all sizes,
Creeds,
Races,
The Tank Corps in Germany most successful was made up of African Americans,
In Alaska during WWII half if the US soldiers that built the highway across that state. Sad it was like the Civil War again.
Segregation white soldiers got good equipment not white crap.
Struggle was evident,
They met in the middle,
See Japanese landed in Alaska,
Roosevelt thought it wise to have planes and equipment and soldiers,
I think of the cowardly lion,
Frank L Baum,
All the lion needed really was belief in himself,
Lion silly old lion believed he needed Courage,
It’s all around us,
You can see who people are in their eyes,
Courage is timing,
Inner strength,
Sets people and animal apart,
It doesn’t make us different,
Nor special,
Courage will be with you,
When your called on to go above and beyond,
Courage is internal,
Secret gift,
Own it,
Never shirk it,
Dying is not painful,
Dying just is another step,
Courage is finite,
