Once there was …

A dance called the Stroll

Before my time

A sweet

Once there was

Once there was!

Stroll went like this

Two long lines

Musical Grease showed it

The ends of the lines

Joined hands

Prominaded down the alley

Between the lined

No high svhool dance for me

Not due to shyness

No one noticed

No one cared

Mom and me we home

Once upon a time

Once upon a time!

Girls in poddle skirts

My half sister was there

In her skirt

Those of us high school dances past by

Like Hello Dolly’s parade

The ones we would have wished to dance with

Probally never knew my heart

I knew I was not the only girl who

Loved girls

Once there was a

Simpler time

Pureness of innocents

I have always been there

Always shy

Always innocent

No saint

I want the memories others store

I long like other gay women

Our own home

Other lesbian friends

Wabt more then just my cat

A study for my writing

Like and not like the stroll

Someone to bring flowers to

Watch her face as she sees I do extra for love of her

Live for her

Through hard and good times

No nursing home or

Creepy,Crappy Human Service people

Will ever remove her to a place like my mom

Who prayed to be released life imprison by hr eldest daughter

Never told the trueth about her second daughter

The daughter who gave things up

Like her mom went without for her children

Why do people never really see who took their hand

Strolling on life’s highway

Tears stream from this poet’s
